The English Class and University

Hi!

Today i wanna express my feeling for the english class jajajaja!
I like learn english, i think that is a very useful tool for our own future (Mainly in the university for professional purpose), also, its very entertaining, has a lot of funny moments (Speech errors, errors in writing that causing laughter when you try to talk to someone in english.
Now i believe that the class can we improved by the students... for example, try to talk in english with each other. Make oral interactions, presentations, whatever you can imagine. I think that the english class need to be like a daily living of an american or british person, I do not know if you understand me xD.
I have developed my knowledge of english so good (i think) because i can write in english without much difficulty. All this thing of Blogg helps alot to develop our writing and and our thinking in English. The Topics are fun of write and keep you
in constantly training. Now i have some difficults when i have to speak in english, because i get nervous, my mind get cloudy with all words that i know... and at the end, i just spit a ball of noise hjahajaa. BUT! I have improved a lot in recent days :)!

Nowadays i use the english for reading purposes in the internet, like reading articles, threads in forums. Also i use it when i play games with this language. I think that this practice helps alot for expand your
vocabulary and develop your english in general.

That's all, cya!

How green are you?

Currently in Chile, the people are not much related to with recycle or with the care of environment. I think that there is no culture about the important that is our planet .I see all the time how the people throwing garbage down, from their cars, bikes, and when they are walking around the city, even when they are close to a trash can... There is no awareness...

But there are people that have began to take care of the planet with enviromentally friendly practices. Now you can see some recycle trash can on some parks in cities. People participate in recycling, but do not learn beyond that. A good tool for learn about the enviroment concern is the internet, because the mass media not delivered culture to people.

I have incorporated recycling into my habits since i was a teenager. In the school i used to keep my papers in my pockets until i see a trash can. Then i began to recycle my old notebooks, journals, whatever i found in my home.

Another way of helping the earth is riding a bike. I use my bike all that i can. i love being in two wheels!
Until now i have not associated with any organization but I have planned to do in the summer

I'm Vegan, i think that this life style helps to stop the animal overexploitation, but now i want be activist, i mean, being a step further!

I think humanity needs to get away from the tv and start live the reality, to understand the damage that man has done to the earth and raise awareness.

Peace and love guys!

The Perfect Song

Hi everyone!

Today i'll expose about a perfect song.. well there's no perfect song but there is a song that i like and i love, thus, is perfect for me :)
This song is called Could you be Loved from Bob Marley, yes, one of the biggest reggae musician, a big philosopher and a greatest life lover.

I like this song because talks about how we should be loved, i mean, be ourselves and how love others as one does. it talks about  your own way to be the happy. This own way is full of difficulties, with people trying to deviate from your path...

The  line i like most in the song goes like this: "The road of life is rocky and you may stumble too, so while you point you fingers someone else is judging you, Love your Brotherman!"
this phrase teaches you to be humble and careful what you say and you act. I think what this sentence means is that, everyone should be judged only by oneself and by God, as we all have the right to be wrong.

I try to be this way all time of my life. The things I've experienced so far (Although they are few) have shown me how true it may be that phrase.

I started to hear reggae music when i left the school, it was a new experience, also, i began to live more peacefully. This is only love bro! hjahjahja. My circle of friends also listen to reggae and when we go on vacation, the reggae is something that can never miss, like a good Weed jhahjjajaa.

long live Bob Marley!

Cya guys!

A Video Clip that i like

Hi everyone!

Today i want to show you a video that i like! It may sound a little ridiculous but this videos is amazing! it have  many messages background about the real importance of life. This Video is called Dinosaurio Anacleto from 31 Minutos. 31 Minutos it was a tv-show in Chile for people of all ages and it was based on a "news" puppets. This TV-show it was so funny and it fram the Chilean TV. I still remember when I saw this program for first time. When television was still "good".

In the video you can see the Dinosaur Anacleto trying to be famous because  he was lonely and missed his friends reptiles from the glaciation. Then, he starts to gain fame but succumbs to the pleasure and luxuries. Still not feeling happy, he decides to leave everything to find "real friends"

The video is so simple,  but has a very profound meaning that children have to experiment and know. I thing that the feelings and values must be taken into account more than the rest of the materiality things.

This video inspired me so I started playing this song on guitar. It isn't hard to learn and it have peaceful and fast to strum.

I believe that someday the humanity will evolve and will stop looking for happiness in the material things, to start looking within ourselves!

well that's all!
See you later guys!

Career-related article

Arcgis Software in FAU:

Arcgis is a software that's works in the area of Geographic Information System.
This progam is veryuseful for Geographers. Arcgis use several applications for capturing, editing, analysis, processing, design, printing and publishing geographic information.

Arcgis helps you in very entertaining ways. You can generate maps of a social space, physic space, even, you can create your own!

Now, this program is a very necessary tool for students in their study process at university. In FAU, there are like six laboratories with computers that have the progam installed, but there is only one that can be used outside of school hours. This is problem for all students in the career of Geography since we only have a few computers. Now there is an aggravating factor, the program is expensive and our university only has the "cracked" licenses; This limits us many program tools to create better results.

Arcgis is becoming increasingly useful in each update (i still prefer the 9.3 version) making it easier to use in the way of ordering the geographical data. However, The software is far to be a perfect tool for students in FAU because of the reasons mentioned. Now, among the GIS, arcgis is being one of the most recommended, since (with a good teacher) is easier grab the rhythm and also help us along those doings geographical.

Well that's all for now!
Cya guys and

beware of the battles for computers in Mecesup! jajaja!

A day I will always remember

I'm not a person who has lived strong and shocking moments that have marked my life, is why, I'll talk about an event that i lived five years ago... Is simple but i'll tell you in detail jajajaja.

At that time, I used to vacation a lot, especially with my school friends going from here to there. This moment that mark my life was a summer day at dawn, in the Chilean Coast. The last night the night before the event, my friends and me we went looking for party on the coast. we spent whole day at sea and it was time to relax drinking a cold beer. During the party with other people we met on the beach, our group of friends in the crowd dissolved and I only left with two.

Aftes spending hours with nice and strange people, we decide go back to the cabin who was in the middle of the hill (I forget to tell that in the summer we stayed in a cabin in the Tabo.. i know i'm lousy at storytelling.. xD) It was then when we came back up the hill when it happened one of the most extraordinary things I've seen. a shooting star, but not any, one of those who are so close you can see the fire and and hear the roar.  it was so amazing.. also there was no moon and it was so dark so that the effects were double.

I will never forget as the sky lit up and how close the meteorite exploded. My friends and I witnessed something spectacular. Nature blessed us!

That's all, was so simple, no? xD

A country i would like to visit

A country i would like to visit
I would like to visit Scotland. Since I saw movies like lord of the rings and Braveheart, my ideal journey would travel to that place.

I love Celtic Mysticism and everything that has to do with it.  I love thinking about epic battles that occurred over 300 years ago or imagine my self riding a horse in the endless hills, looking at the mountains, the forests, rivers,  all the landscape.

Scotland is a rough place, with giant natural areas. Their reserves are beautiful, and they have fields that have never been touched by the asphalt. I like this because I love the nature. I have a strong connection with the environment and his care and when I see the naturalness of its meadows, I just go crazy.

The Celtic Mysticism is also a strong reason to of why I want to go there. Think about the history of the people "barbarians", all the knowledge you can acquire from them and his culture. Well, I admit, I love the medieval era, and I have a little nerd inside me.

If I go there someday I'll go listening Mago de Oz. It’s a amazing Folk-Metal Group that inspires me to get ready for the battle and defend the nature with my sword and shield.

Well that’s, I interested with the región. I want to know about its mysticism and the history, his goddesses and enjoy that quiet place.

My Ideal Job

My ideal job would be a farmer.

Not long ago I started to grow my own plants in the backyard of my house. I’ve always loved the nature, in fact, when I was a kid, I always liked rolling in the grass.

I spend too much time to studies, and sometimes I usually get stressed. It was a year ago when I met the so-called "urban garden" this make me stay quiet and relaxed, it is also, very useful for your own food.
Currently, I am studying Geography, an interesting profession and that relates with the environment. I don’t see myself in front of a computer interpreting digital information all the day or doing maps for some other reason. If I would be a farmer, I would spend most of the time outdoors. Watch how it grows what you cultivated it make me so grateful of life... Learn about each species and their qualities it’s just wonderful. Now, it’s a little difficult find a place with a good portion of land, since it is assumed that this work must be sustainable and don’t have a suitable place, it will provoke that i should find another job. In this case another ideal job to complement the previous one, would be a teacher, but not a typical one, these one that teach geography or history in low-income schools that are so far of urbanization. I think I have the patience to teach, several friends tell me this, and I think the idea of helping children and families is gratifying.

Well that’s my dream…

What’s yours?

My experience in the Highschool

Hello everyone !! today the blog entry is the highschool topic!!

This theme is very controversial by all the disturbance of education that exists today in Chile. This raises questions like the  what is the quality?, how expensive it is to study? and if there profit in  education.

But today i'll express to you my experience throught it.

The highschool are four years where you get ready to the college. you can choice between humanist and scientific courses, depending on it is how you specialize in the future.
When i started in first grade, the parties began to be more followed and incluiding more alcohol and cigarettes. No one cared about our future, we where there to have fun only!

Every holidays, with my friends we traveled to various places without adult supervisión, it was full of adrenaline and awesomes experiences. We felt the freedom filling us, with no responsibilities and homeworks to do. Throught the year it was still funny. In class room we laughed hard and alot, the teachers expelled us, we escaped from the school, after school we were in the streets spending time.

As the years passed, i started to feel the pressure of my actions, The qualifications was taking more weight, the relationship with my friends become more stronger but with my parents was more conflictual. I could finally finish with the necessary qualifications to apply for college. Many of my classmates could not continue with their studies as they expected.  My School was to bad after all.
However was an experience unforgettable. I make a lot of friends, i met myself and all this in spite of the bad Chilean education.

see you later guys!!

Advantages and disavantages of being a 20 year old man in Chile

Today, the society in which we live, is constantly telling us what to do, how to live, how to behave, what to work on, etc. In Chile, this new type of modernity is guided by a high rate of sexism and models of morality and ethics. This causes cultural or economic differences between the sexes.
In this way, be a 20 years old man in the current society can be interpreted as an advantage in many senses (what is really unfair) which, following this line will be presented below.

Advantages to be a 20 years old man:
  • Being a student: this can be seen as an advantage because it will improve my future according to what society says (seen of the social and ethical human behavior). Now it is easier for someone like me to study compared with the times of my parents.
  • Have no responsibilities: I have no greater responsibility as maintaining a home, I just need to study and care of my career, only to be better paid.
  • Freedom: Have 20 years gives to us more freedom, I can go to various places without my parents (and without scoldings!) that's a advantage for me, but, for a woman, is still a complication because they are seen as the weaker sex, so thats why parents take more care with them.
But not everything can be advantageous for a man of my age, here are some disadvantages:

  • Being ignored by adults: The typical case where adults do not consider us to make collective decisions, where we are treated as immature, of not knowing the life, which in many cases plays against us, harming our dreams.
  • Love and be loved: An a disadvantage to be a man, can be that we never will know how feels the mother's love to his son, because we can not give birth. another fact of be a men, is that prevents us from being "pampered" because we are the "insensitive" sex according to the society.
We must remember that those advantages and disadvantages are only my view of life because of how the world is today and do not necessarily represent reality as it is.

My Oral Presentation - Enviroment and the social-space

A geographer needs to know several skills to do they work. They should know how to interpret different map, graphs, statistics, photographs, for say something. For this, the geographer needs a number of tools that can show to you the currently situation of a location or a situation. However leaving the material work side, we must remember that to make a research is necessary to have a theoretical support based in the epistemology of this discipline and all that it brings with (Analysis of the social and physical space). Taken this last idea of the analysis of social-space we need to immerse in the historical process, in this way Chile have a lot of topics of interest but especially the enviroments dealings.
In the 80's have to come to Chile many international company with the support of the new economic system implanted in dictatorship: Neoliberalism. This new system suppresses many labor rights and enviroment laws. If we are aware and follow the disciplinary currents of Geography, the epistemology and the "to do" always looking for the balance between nature and human space (Human settlements and nature form the enviroment and his complexity). As geographers we must fight because this prevails. The new economic systems that predominant the world, affect regions with polluters companies and in these regions are people rooted to the surface, to the culture of the zone, for example the case with trans-national company Barrick Gold and his miner project Pascualama in Atacama that destroy glaciers affecting indigenous communities or the Hydroelectric in the Region de Aysen. The sustainable economic is possible but is our work that can be achieved.
